Readers’ Theatre
Related Activities – Also see Attachment 1, Learning Area & Content Standard Alignment
- Choose a play based on a book or a story. Read the book or story, analyze it, perform the play, and view the movie, if available. (See
Attachment 1 for Read, Listen, View correlations).
- For Arts and Literature: Intermediate, choose a story and have students write a play based on the story, adapting plot, characters,
etc. for theatrical purposes. For Art and Literature: Primary have students imitate animals, objects or shapes in the presentation, and have them make or borrow costumes and props to use in the presentation.
- For Writing and Speaking, both intermediate and primary, have students write a story. Then, have them adapt it to pay format and
present it.
